Imperial Capital Bank was organized in 1974 as Imperial Thrift and Loan Association, a California Industrial Loan Bank. In 1995, Imperial Thrift and Loan Association went public through the sale of its shares in an initial public offering. ITLA Capital Corporation is the Bank's parent company. In 2000, the Bank's name was changed to Imperial Capital Bank, and in January 2003, Imperial Capital Bank's charter changed to a state chartered non-member commercial bank. Imperial Capital Bank is now positioned to offer the full complement of deposit products, including checking accounts, which Industrial Banks are precluded from offering by law.
